Marquette at Butler

The Butler Bulldogs have sure risen above the mid-major tag since their days in the Horizon Conference, but a few things have changed. Coach Stevens, who was the main cog in their success, has departed to the NBA. And players such as Gordon Hayward are no longer around. They are also now in the revamped Big East, and what they are seeing night in and night out is quite more competitive than the Horizon. This is a lesser team playing big time competition every night, and so far they have struggled at 0-5 in conference play. Marquette is similar in record, but not stature. Marquette, like a lot of Big East teams, defend for 40 minutes, and allow just 39% from the field. Butler has been frustrated by the physical play every night, and get a heavy dose of it here.
