La Salle catches a break, playing a bad Rhode Island squad. La Salle is in a tight A-10 race, battling Butler and Xavier for third place. They have plenty of offensive punch and good balance, led by senior Ramon Galloway (17 ppg), plus shooting 72% from the charity stripe as a team (second in the Atlantic 10). The Explorers are 27-11-2 ATS in their last 40 games vs. a team with a losing record and they won't be in a good mood after losing at Temple the last game. They've won eight of the last 11 games. Rhode Island is one of the worst offensive teams in the nation, 61.6 ppg ranks 300th and they shoot .399% from the field. Rhode Island has lost nine of 12 and the Rams are 6-16 ATS in their last 22 games after scoring less than 50 points in their previous game. They got smoked by Xavier the last game, a 55-42 loss at home. The Rams are also 1-4 ATS following a double-digit loss at home. La Salle has toppled Rhode Island in each of the past two seasons. Last year, they defeated the Rams 80-66 and the road team is 6-1-1 ATS in the last eight meetings, plus the favorite is 3-1-1 ATS in the last five meetings. Play La Salle.
