Bracket Buster weekend gets underway with a pair of games, one featuring the Kent State Golden Flashes taking on the Drexel Dragons. Not much to pick and choose from these teams from a record standpoint. Kent State has taken on three comparable teams to Drexel, and has more than held their own. They beat Iona (17-10), beat Furman (19-7), and lost to Cleveland State (23-5) by just 3 points, so the Golden Flashes certainly should be in this one down to the wire. The Dragons opened the season at 12-5 ATS, but have fallen to 2-5 ATS over their last seven, dropping their last three against the number. The Dragons’ resume against the MAC is an unimpressive 0-4 ATS in their last four. I like Kent State in this one. I also like the OVER. Kent State started off as an UNDER team, going 10-3 UNDER in their first 21 games. In their last five, however, they have gone 4-1 to the OVER. They are also 14-3 OVER the past three seasons when facing very good rebounding teams like Drexel (those averaging 4+ net rebounds per game). Over that same span, the Golden Flashes are also 9-1 OVER after a close loss by 6 or fewer points. Meanwhile, Drexel is 15-6 OVER the past three seasons in non-conference games. Take Kent and the OVER here.
