The Cougars shot 53 percent with Fabian White Jr. leading the way with 22 points and nine rebounds and the Bearcats were held to 34 percent shooting and 4-for-20 from 3-point range. Houston won and covered both meetings with SMU last season, including a 70-48 blowout in the last meeting while holding the Mustangs to 32 percent from the field. SMU had a five-game win streak snapped while losing at Wichita State 72-57 on Saturday and the Mustangs shot only 36.5 percent.
