Hofstra at Elon

Hofstra has started to look like an improving team, as their 4-1 record in their last five games is their best five-game run of the season. They will take the floor with confidence against the Elon Phoenix, who bring an 11-5 record into this contest. The Phoenix, however, have padded the record with a pair of wins over Belmont Abbey, and Wesley College, and a handful of several other very soft competition. I think that hurts them here against a much more tested Hofstra team that appears to be hitting their stride as we reach the midway point of the season. Elon has two of their top three scorers shooting under 40% of the season, and seven of their top eight scorers connect on less than 70% from the not so charity stripe in their case. That will be the difference in a close game, so back Hofstra on the moneyline in this one.
