Virginia had won four straight before losing what was a huge revenge game for Duke in the ACC tournament final and now the Cavaliers have to prepare for Furman, which has won 14 of 15 and is in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1980. Virginia, of course, has played in a tougher conference and it's a veteran team with three scorers averaging double figures led by Armaan Frankin with 12.6 points per game in the regular season and Jayden Gardner (11.8 ppg) along with Kihei Clark (11.1 ppg). Mike Bothwell led the Paladins with 17.9 points and JP Pegues came through with 21.0 points per game in the conference tournament. Virginia allows only 60.3 points per game, but Furman scores 82.1 and allows 71.2. Virginia is 7-2-1 ATS its past 10 games versus .600 teams and Furman has gone OVER four of five against teams with .600 winning percentages. The Paladins have gone OVER six of nine, including by an average of 15.5 points their last two games. This is a deflated posted total due to Virginia's defensive reputation, but the Cavaliers averaged 69.2 points in the five previous games before Duke. Furman is just 3-4 ATS its past seven games. Take Virginia as a Max Play, and play the OVER.
