Florida International at Southern Mississippi

Southern Mississippi is having a nightmare season. Unfortunately, they picked up where they left off last season when it lost nine of its last 10 games. Now the Golden Eagles are 7-18 this season and come off a 30-point loss at UTEP. The Golden Eagles shot just 36.7 percent against the Miners, and Cortez Edwards was their only player in double figures with 13 points. The Southern Miss defense allowed UTEP to shoot 52.9 percent and 12-of-23 from three-point range. The Golden Eagles lost their previous two games at UTSA and by 17 points at home to Western Kentucky. Florida International snapped a four-game skid with a 90-71 win over North Texas with Elmo Stephen pouring in 34 points and grabbing 12 rebounds and the Golden Panthers shot 51.7 percent. Southern Miss is shooting just 38.3 percent compared to 44.5 percent for the FIU, which has covered six of its last eight road games and eight of its last nine as a road favorite.
