Manhattan looks to build on a 14-17 season, including 9-9 in the MAAC and it returns the conference Defensive Player of the Year in Pauly Paulicap, who led the MAAC in blocks. Also, Thomas Capuno recorded the best three-point shooting percentage in the conference and that gives the Jaspers two reasons to have optimism this year. Meanwhile, Elon is coming off a 14-18 season, but the Fighting Phoenix lost its last seven games and didn't cover the spread in any of them. The Phoenix was near the bottom in forcing turnovers last season and they were weak in defending the three-point shot. Elon finished 6-12 in the CAA and is expected to be near the bottom this season. Elon is 5-17 ATS its last 22 road contests and the Jaspers have covered four of their last five non-conference games and they are 5-1-2 ATS their last eight versus the Colonial Athletic Association. Play Manhattan.
