Eastern Illinois has turned things around after an 0-4 start that included a loss at Indiana. They've won three games since, including as a +8 point dog to Indiana State, 68-62, playing strong defense. All five losses came on the road with two on a neutral court in Las Vegas as part of the Global Sports Classic. Demetrius McReynolds missed three games in mid-December with a leg injury. He returned to the Panthers lineup on Dec. 19 at Houston and has made an immediate impact. On Monday he continued that solid play with 14 points against Hannibal-LaGrange including four-of-five from three-point range. In the four games back in the lineup, McReynolds is averaging 11 points and 3.4 rebounds per game. He has been solid from three-point range going 11-of-22 in those four contests. Eastern Illinois was picked to finish third in the Ohio Valley Conference West Division this season.
