East Carolina at George Mason

E. Carolina was 6-24 last season and 8-14 ATS, winning just one conference game and underperforming in every possible way. They do return four starters but they also have a new coach in Mack McCarthy who is actually just an "interim" coach which sends a message to the players. Maybe this is why this team has started out 2-4 SU and 0-2 ATS. Their two wins came against, get this: Limestone and NC Wesleyan. Um, not sure who those schools are but I'd rather look at how they performed in more meaningful games. They lost outright as a four point favorite to Richmond, lost by 14 to S. Florida and by 15 to WInthrop. George Mason has won nine of the last ten meetings between these clubs. They are also 6-1 thus far, losing only to Villinova. Thbey are giving up just 60.4 points per game which is another bad sign for E. Carolina as the Pirates are 0-6 ATS since last season when facing a team that allows 64 or fewer points per game. E. Carolina is also 15-31 ATS overall the past three seasons and 10-24 ATS after a loss including 4-14 ATS following a double-digit loss. Mason here.
