It has been quite a ride for the Air Force Academy as the rise in 2004 has come to an end with their 26-9 mark last season. This was a program that went 24-114 in conference play before '04 and is now heading back in that direction - and quickly. The leader of the rise, coach Jeff Bzdelik, is off to the Univ. of Colorado and graduated the bulk of the success leaving behind only one starter and not much else. The success was built on having five players that could all make three-point shots, making Air Force an impossible team to defend. This is an Air Force team that was never favored against anyone by this many prior to their success, so we see a lot of value in this line. They have created an illusion with their recent success, but the clock has struck midnight and things are back where they were. Good teams from the prior year, playing against bad teams from the prior year that returns just one starter, have been horrible against the spread. They are 14-39, so that certainly does not bode well for Air Force. Air Force will continue to employ the Princeton-style offense, which is no secret to Dartmouth. The problem is the 50% 3-pt shooters are all gone. Those shooters still only managed 68-points per game at Air Force so, expect less and with a hefty spread to cover they are going to have to score. Too many points here, we will ride the Big Green.
