Creighton at Dayton

This should be a good matchup as Dayton has gotten off to a good start after a dismal campaign last year. Creighton returns everyone from a 20-win team, and the bonus is Nate Funk, who missed most of last year. This team is veteran and road seasoned, and last year without Funk beat George Mason on the road by 20, and lost to Wichita St. by just 1 in OT, so they certainly know how play on the road. Funk is the leading scorer, and adding him to the other four returning starters makes this Creighton team much better than last year, and they should be at the top of the MVC. Creighton brings with it a stingy 38.5% FG percentage defense, and this should be a low scoring game. Dayton has made strides over last year, but a veteran team, with its best player added to the cast is one that becomes a live road dog.
