You have to wonder about the focus this week for North Carolina State. They come off a 51-50 loss at Maryland, and have a pair of look-ahead games before playing rival North Carolina. NC State was coming off a stunning upset of then No. 1 Duke, but looked flat, shooting 31%. They then lost on a buzzer-beater to the Terrapins, ending a 10-game win streak. The Wolfpack is 2-5-1 ATS in their last eight games following a loss. Unranked Clemson has won 4-of-6 games and has the kind of big, experienced front-court you need to hang with NC State with 6-8 senior Devin Booker, 6-9 Milton Jennings and 6-6 K.J. McDaniels crashing the glass. Clemson leads the ACC in blocks and is second in steals and points allowed, just 55.4 points per game. They love the slow-paced game, allowing 39.2% shooting in conference play. Clemson comes off a win over Wake Forest where they allowed 44 points, and the Tigers are 4-1 ATS in their last five games after allowing less than 50 points in their previous game. The underdog is 4-1-1 ATS in the last six meetings, including a 72-69 Clemson win a year ago in overtime. Go with Clemson and the points.
