The 2013-14 season was not a very successful one at Furman for first year head coach Niko Medved. The Paladins won just nine games overall, and three in conference play. Stephen Croone is back, and he was the only double-digit scorer on the team, but he can't do it alone as teams are going to play help-defense against him. That is the big question for Furman this year if they want to improve upon the nine wins from last year, and it may take some time to find another consistent scorer or two, if at all. Charleston went a bit deeper into the pool last season with a move to the Colonial Conference. The Cougars finished just 14-18 and 6-10 in conference play. They return a player that Furman will have trouble contending with on both ends in center Adjehi Baru, the schools eighth all-time leading rebounder coming into the season, and should be a double-double machine this year. Furman has not been good for a long time, and Charleston is the right side, so play on Charleston.
