Canisius at Penn State

Penn State lost at George Washington 76-66 on Tuesday which broke a three-game winning streak for the Nittany Lions. Penn State is a young, but improving team after winning two games in last season's Big Ten Tournament for the first time. Shep Garner scored 22 points in Tuesday's loss and Brandon Taylor added 15 points, but the Lions had an off night from three-point range in making just seven of 26 attempts. Garner leads his team with a 16.4 scoring average followed by Taylor with 15.9. The Nittany Lions defense allows opponents a .423 field goal percentage. Canisius loss to Qunnipiac 78-76 on Saturday as Phil Valenti led his team with 25 points and Jamal Reynolds added 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. The Golden Griffins are still dealing with losing their top three scorers from last season as they shot just 39.7 percent from the field against the Bobcats and just 8-of-30 from beyond the arc. Canisius' opponents are shooting 45.6 percent from the field and 48.2 percent in road games.
