Cal Davis may be 0-2 in this tournament in San Diego to start the season, but they've been impressive, losing by just 1 and 7 points. This team lives by the three-pointer, hitting 48% (14 of 29) in yesterday's loss to Bryant. They are playing hard for first-year coach Jim Les, and hungry to get him a victory. They don't have the inside muscle to play with San Diego State, so they will bomb away from long range, their strength, behind three sharp shooters from beyond the arc in Josh Ritchart, Ryan Howley and Ryan Sypkens. The three combined to go 12 of 22 yesterday from area code three. UC Davis is coming off a season in which it led the Big West in both three-pointers made (241) and in percentage (.378). Sypkens led the Big West last season in three-point percentage, making 42% of his attempts. The Aggies are 6-2 ATS in their last eight road games against a team with a winning home record. San Diego State is a big favorite here, but one of their major flaws is free-throw shooting, going 11-of-25 (.440) in the opener and 9-of-20 (.450) yesterday. When you are backing a big favorite, you don't want to have them clanking freebies. Play on Cal Davis.
