Cal Riverside at Portland

Portland is looking for improvement this season with new coach Terry Porter and is led by all-league senior guard Alec Wintering, who averaged 18.3 points last season. Also, junior guard D'Marques Tyson, who shot 41.1 percent from the three-point line is back to give the Pilots a formidable backcourt tandem. In addition, center Ray Barreno, who led the team in rebounds also returns. Cal Riverside lost eight of its last nine games and had to dismiss senior Taylor Johns due to a rules violation. The Highlanders were 14-19 last season and will be hard-pressed to improve on that mark. Three starters return, including senior forward Secean Johnson, but there's not much depth on the frontline.
