C. CT State Blue Devils at St. John's

Chris Mullin has the St. John's program on the rise, improving to 14-19 last season after an 8-24 record the year before. The Red Storm arguably have one of the best backcourts in the country with Shamorie Ponds and Marcus LoVett and it welcomes 6-7, 230 pound Marvin Clark, who transferred from Michigan State to help on the frontline. Clark scored 15 points in his team's 77-61 win over New Orleans and LoVett scored 23 points and the Johnnies held the Privateers to 38.9 percent shooting. Central Connecticut State already has lost its first two games, including at Hartford in overtime and then at Rutgers. The Blue Devils come off a 6-23 season and lost two of their top players. Central Connecticut is out of its league figuratively and literally in this matchup. Lay the points with St. John's.
