You need defense if you want to slow down BYU, and Saint Mary's has it. They are second in the West Coast Conference in points allowed (67.8 points per game) behind Gonzaga, and #4 in three-point defense allowing .356%. BYU comes to town with a 3-8 road record, #8 in the conference in points allowed (78 ppg). BYU (9-15 ATS) was favored the last game at Pacific, but lost 89-82 when they allowed .518% shooting and a whopping 10-21 (47%) from long range, and blew a halftime lead. The Cougars are 2-5 ATS in their last seven road games, plus they're on a 1-6 ATS run overall. Saint Mary's has won three in a row and seven of nine, is home and a much better defensive team. And they've owned BYU of late at 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings. Play Saint Mary's.
