Last year's version of Michigan St. basketball featured their top three players going in the top 34 of the draft. It was disappointing that they managed just an 8-8 Big Ten record. This year is going to be a tough one, as just one starter returns, and no double digit scorer will be back. The losses of Ager, Brown, and Davis, and even Matt Trannon who opted to play football this year, is not just 73% of the offense, but lots of leadership and experience. New coach Craig Robinson, who played at Princeton, is going to institute a Princeton-like offense at Brown. It makes for some early season value here on the total. Many of the Princeton games against top opponents play in the 90s, and low 100s. Here we have a coach determined to play a similar offense, and a team in Michigan St. devoid of most of its scoring from a season ago. This new offense will likely will take time to gel. We like this one to catch the oddsmakers off guard, and come in below the posted total.
