Bowling Green at St. John's

St. John's closed out last season 6-4 after enduring an 11-game losing streak in Big East competition and hope to build on that momentum this season. The Red Storm returns a nucleus of Shamorie Ponds, Marvin Clark and Justin Simon to go with some talented newcomers. It won its first game 76-55 over Loyola Maryland and held the Greyhounds to just 34.1 percent shooting, including 3-of-12 from three-point range. Ponds led the Red Storm with 20 points and Mustapha Heron added 15 points and St. John's shot only 44.6 percent itself. Bowling Green is picked to finish near the bottom of the MAC East Division and lost its last six games last season and had the worst shooting percentage in the conference.
