Belmont steps up in competition for the first time since they played Purdue of the Big 10 back in December. And it wasn't pretty, a 73-62 loss, getting out-rebound by 10 boards and shooting 36.4% from the field. Purdue led by 16 at the half. Belmont coach Rick Byrd is 25-38 ATS against teams that allow 42% shooting or less and they face a strong all-around Maryland squad. The Terrapins are one of the best rebounding teams in the nation, ranking seventh in the country and second in the Big Ten in rebound margin (+8.3). Maryland is 19-9 ATS against teams making 37% or more of their three-point shots, plus 71-47 ATS versus teams that hit 72% or better from the charity stripe. Maryland is 24-3 straight up in tournament-opening games, including a 12-1 run. Back the big, battle-tested ACC team to cover the spread. Play Maryland.
