Belmont at Illinois State

Belmont took some time to settle in this season after losing eight of their top nine scorers from last season, but the Bruins have figured it out and won four in a row (3-0-1 ATS) after defeating Valparaiso 76-64 while holding the Beacons to just 2-for-16 from 3-point distance. Ben Sheppard was one of the few holdovers from 2021-22 and he is averaging 19.4 points and Drew Friberg and Cade Tyson add 14.3 points apiece. The Bruins have allowed an average of only 66.2 points in the four wins, which is a big improvement from earlier in the season. Illinois State has lost five straight, including 70-67 in overtime against Murray State on Thursday. The Redbirds are shooting only 40.4 percent overall and 31.9 percnet from beyond the arc.
