This is a agme that features the #4 team in the country as an underdog to an unranked opponent. It certainly would put most people on #4 Alabama, but historically, that is the wrong choice! Alabama may be without All American Ron Steele, or at least without him being 100% for this game. He is a difference maker, and Bama is a good team but one that lacks depth, and any minutes he is not on the floor lowers the effectiveness of this team. Notre Dame was expected to have a difficult time this year but they have gotten some big surprises. Russell Carter has emerged into a 16 ppg scorer, and continues to improve every game. Freshman Luke Harangody has been a huge surprise averaging 12.6 ppg and 4.4 boards. The loss that was the biggest concern was that of Torin Francis who averaged 11.6 ppg and 9.4 rpg. The surprise has been that Rob Kurz has been even better. Kurz is averaging 15.4 ppg and 8 rpg. All this has translated into a 2 point loss to Butler, which certainly looks better now, and a win against MD. Always a tough out at home, we will ride the Irish to win tonight.
