Akron at Kent State

Akron is having a monster season at 21-5, winning eight of the last nine. This is nothing new as the Zips are one of only five teams to win at least 21 wins in each of the last 10 seasons. Akron is third in three-point field goal defense in the nation, limiting opponents to 28.1 percent shooting. They also rank in the top five in three-pointers made (304). Kent State is 2-4 straight-up the last six games, even losing as a favorite to Toledo, 82-67. Defense is a problem as the Golden Flashes have allowed opponents to score 72.4 points a night on 44.1 percent shooting from the field and 36.9 percent from downtown. Akron went 2-1 against Kent last season, winning 61-52 and 53-51 in tournament play, while dropping a two-point game.
