Miami at Carolina

This is a relatively high posted total for a preseason game, but it's due to last week's performances by the two teams who both went OVER. However, this is the time to go with the UNDER as both coaches will be looking for a better defensive showing. Carolina might have underestimated Bills quarterback Nathan Peterman and the Panthers were without their top cornerback, James Bradberry, who was nursing a minor groin injury but either way the first team defense is looking to redeem itself this week. Miami will do the same after losing to Tampa Bay 26-24 and the Dolphins have depth at quarterback especially after David Fales completed 8-of-11 for 115 yards and journeyman Brock Osweiler finished 10-of-21 for 83 yards. Bryce Petty and Ryan Tannehill, who had been out since 2016, also saw time. Cam Newton got into it with former teammate Kelvin Benjamin before the game, but regained his composure to complete six of nine passes for 84 yards. Taylor Heinecke went 7-of-9 for 121 yards and a touchdown and Garrett Gilbert went 7-of-12 for 93 yards and a TD. The Panthers are laying too many points in this situation for a preseason game and look for both defenses to improve. Take the Dolphins and the UNDER.
