Here we're getting a team that barely lost last year's Super Bowl against a team that has absolutely no defense. Don't read too much into Monday night's loss for Carolina. This is still largely the same team that beat some excellent teams on their way to the Bowl last year. Their secondary has changed but the core of the defense is still there. And even with changes to the Carolina offensive line, Stephen Davis should have a monster day against the Chiefs who gave up 202 yards rushing to Quentin Griffin and the Broncos last week. As I stated last week, Gunther Cunningham will have this defense playing respectable ball by mid season but right now, they look like the team that gave up 434 yards and 38 points to the Colts in last year's divisional playoffs. John Fox will have his team ready to go here. The Panthers are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 when coming off a game in which they scored 10-20 points. In week two, visiting teams that lost as a favorite in week one cover the spread 70% of the time. One unit on Carolina +6.5 and one unit on the Panthers to win the game.
