Washington went over .500 with a 5-1 win over the Red Sox on Friday and Trey Lipscomb hit a go-ahead two-run single in the second. Boston left 11 men on base and lost its third in a row and fell to 7-10 at home this season. Jake Irvin will be on the mound for Washington and he has a 1.19 WHIP overall and he has done his best work on the road where he has a 2-0 record with a 2.35 ERA and a .198 opponent batting average. Boston starter Cooper Criswell has allowed six runs (three earned) in 11 1/3 inings at home. Washington has won seven of nine road games and nine of 13 overall.
