Top pick: #6 (TYPHOON TERI) (3-1) - Home-bred filly has faced tougher her entire career, and trainer Dom Galluscio will drop this daughter of "Stormy Atlantic" into a claimer for the first time. Working well for her first off a pair of two month layoffs, and she's spotted to win this afternoon.
nd pick: #8 (Light Weight) (12-1) - Speedy filly takes the same drop as "Teri," and it's of note that when debuting last winter, she was bet down to favoritism and had the recently retired Ramon Dominguez aboard that day. 3yo has tired badly in both starts, but at this reduced level, her early speed is dangerous.
rd pick: #1 (Gingee) (30-1) - Longshot goes turf to dirt, is working fast locally, and home-bred filly by "Eltish" draws the rail. Can grab a share of this at a very big price.
th pick: #10 (Glassy Aly) (7-2) - Unraced since last fall, she ran evenly in both starts at that time, and is working well for her return. Runs at a new low, and the trainer(Contessa)/jockey(Saez)combo has won six of 24 on the NYRA circuit this year.
th pick: #3 (Alexa) (8-1) - Debuting home-bred had a bullet half-mile gate breeze at Belmont back on June 17th that suggests the speed is present. Daughter of "Jade Hunter" need not be much to factor against this crew.
