She finished second here to champ 'Lady Eli' in the G1 Gamely Stakes at this distance May 27. Sent if for a layoff, she rallied to miss by just under a length at Del Mar in a G2 Sept. 2. Working steadily and she gets top billing.
2nd pick: #5 (Avenge) (3-1) - Speed/stalker has been a bit sub par in both starts this year after finishing a close up third here in the Breeder's Cup Filly and Mare Turf (G1) 11 months ago. I like her recent works and she's a win candidate.
3rd pick: #2 (Goldy Espony) (8-1) - French import was a budding star back in 2015, but grey mare was injured late in that year and did not run again for 13.5 months. Speedy veteran tired at Del Mar Aug. 16 but should be much fitter for this attempt. If you like her you can have the Bob Baffert/Mike Smith combination at a square price.
4th pick: #8 (Decked Out) (5-1) - She had some traffic issues when beaten four lengths by 'Goodyearforroses' Sept. 2 at Del Mar. It was her first race in nine months following a G1 win here at this trip in the rich American Oaks.
5th pick: #3 (Responsibleforlove) (6-1) - Iris bred is improving and has a flexible running style. She loves this distance 4-2-1-1 and is a late factor.
