Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #1 (HEYWOODS BEACH) (7-2) - A $180K son of 'Speightstown,' he rallied to miss by a 'neck' here at this level going nine furlongs March 8. It was a career-best to date, and he has a fine series of local drills showing from trainer John Sadler. I give him a slight edge.
2nd pick: #4 (Leprino) (4-1) - Lasix is added by Rick Mandella to this $700,000 gelded son of 'Medaglia d'Oro.' He ran well here at this level and distance Feb. 15 and is a win candidate in this spot.
3rd pick: #2 (Eastern Ocean) (10-1) - Longshot finished a good 4th when sprinting here Feb. 22, a race that saw him have a poor beginning. Only his second attempt, it was his first since debuting at Delaware Park Oct. 5. The colt worked a bullet half-mile April 30 and is in the mix today at a big price.
4th pick: #8 (Capital Call) (8-1) - One of two entered by Neil Drysdale, home-bred by 'Tonalist' has raced evenly in all three so far. The barn has him racing without blinkers for the first time, and a fast and/or contested pace would help his chances out.
