Top pick: #6 (CLOSET E) (3-1) - Well-bred gelding has finished second here in two straight at this tag, the latest sprinting 5.5-furlongs March 1st. Claimed that day by Bob Diodoro (a 29% winning angle), he's worked him three times since and stretches him back out in distance. The last two drills were extremely and fast and this 3-year-old by "Street Sense" is the horse to beat.
nd pick: #8 (Warrensgoldenyears) (5-2) - Warren home-bred has improved in all three starts since debuting at Hollywood in late Nov. Colt rallied to miss by a neck here at this tag on March 9th and has worked three times since. Bejarano stays aboard and this 3-year-old looks like the main danger.
rd pick: #9 (Wicked Heat) (12-1) - Longshot drops in class and is racing for the first time since Jan. 25. His works are excellent and this gelding by "Unusual Heat" has a shot at a big price.
th pick: #11 (Bluegrass Fox Trot) (5-1) - He regressed in his latest and was 9 1/2 lengths back of "Warren" with no apparent excuse. Competitive in three straight prior to that, but 3-year-old draws a tough post.
th pick: #1 (He's a Real Keeper) (8-1) - Bred/owned/trained by veteran Jerry Fanning, colt is working nicely for his first since Feb. 2 and will be racing in a claimer for the first time. Has the rail and must be left in the mix.
