Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #3 (TIZAMAGICIAN) (6-5) - A $150K son of 'Tiznow,' this colt has finished 2nd in two of his three starts and did so here at this distance Oct. 13. It was by far a career best, and it earned him the highest Byer figure any of these has reached so far. He should beat this group with a similar effort.
2nd pick: #6 (Cool Runnings) (7-2) - Colt moves back in with maidens and is racing on the dirt for the first time. This son of 'American Pharoah' was very sharp in his first pair on the Del Mar grass at this distance, then tired badly here in a stakes Oct. 6. I see no reason why he won't handle the dirt, and he should grab a share if he does.
3rd pick: #4 (Best Chance) (8-1) - Longshot is yet another that's trying the dirt for the first time. The colt has finished withing range in both turf starts and was wide in one and had traffic issues in the other. He worked four times here on the main track during October, and all were well above average.
4th pick: #5 (Taishan) (4-1) - Colt raced evenly when debuting in a Del Mar sprint Aug. 17. Freshened up since, trainer Rich Baltas stretches him out, has him working steadily, and he may improve enough to get a share.
