Top pick: #1 (EXPO AND FIG) (5-1) - The main speed, he's working well locally for his first since Aug. 7 and only his second since last December. His best ever came here in his only previous race on real dirt and trainer Phil D'Amato drops him to a new low in price.
nd pick: #12 (Shock Wave) (10-1) - Longshot ran well last out on Aug. 28 at Del Mar and is moving to real dirt and making back-to-back starts for the first time. Colt by "Candy Ride" draws a nice outside post and is a win candidate at a big price.
rd pick: #9 (Warren's Sallyized) (30-1) - Grey gelding raced both wide and evenly going 5-furlongs at Del Mar Aug. 14. It was his first in five months and he's stretching out in distance and going "poly" to dirt. Don't just ignore him at a very big price.
th pick: #7 (Royal Tale) (6-1) - His best races have come on the real dirt at Emerald Downs and this gelding by "Tale of the Cat" enters off an even effort at Los Alamitos going a mile on Sept. 6. Contends in this spot.
th pick: #5 (Persisting) (8-1) - He rallied while extremely wide to finish a non-threatening third going 5.5-furlongs at Los Alamitos on Sept. 5. It was his first since late Nov. and he can impact with a bit of improvement.
