Top pick: #3 (MADRE LUNA) - Daughter of "Rahy" showed an improved effort last out when trainer Julio Canani moved her to the grass. She raced close up and finished second of 11, beaten 3 1/2 lengths racing here at this level and distance Oct. 13. Working fast since and 3yo will be making back to back starts for the first time. The horse to beat.
2nd pick: #6 (Eula B) - Grey filly by "Bernstein" finished 3rd debuting here on the dirt Oct. 16 and did so after dueling thru very fast fractions. Moves to the grass and jockey Pat Valenzuela will have her involved from the start.
3rd pick: #7 (Tizalwayssomething) - Four-year-old daughter of "Tiznow" finished a pace-setting third in the same last race of "Luna" and was only a nose behind her on the wire. Race was her first in 11 months, and trainer Alexis Barba has worked her twice since. Filly should be involved from start-to-finish.
4th pick: #9 (Ava Pie) - Off slowly when debuting here on the dirt Oct. 16, she showed some speed from tough inside post and has come-back with a fine work on the Oct. 27. Daughter of "Distorted Humor" switches to the grass, moves off the rail, and will run better this afternoon.
