Top pick: #2 (Time For A J) (3-1) - Gelding hasn't been seen since finishing 6th of 10, beaten 6 lengths when debuting at Del Mar last July. That was a pretty strong field in which multiple stakes winner "Tamarando" finished second. Bred/owned/trained by Walt Solis, 3-year-old is working well for his return, takes a big drop, and meets a weak field. Can take this if ready.
2nd pick: #5 (Cut to Run) (5-2) - One of two entered by owner/trainer Bobby Grayson and this gelding will drop in class and switch from turf to dirt for his third attempt. Three-year-old has early speed and is a win candidate.
3rd pick: #7 (Higher Mandate) (4-1) - The second of the Grayson pair, he hasn't run since finishing third at this level going a mile on the Fresno dirt on Oct. 10. No-speed type tends to race evenly and will need to step it up for anything more than a minor award.
4th pick: #3 (Voluntary) (5-1) - Freshened up since Feb. 23, he's been competitive in two of four since debuting at Hollywood in early Dec. Working above average at Los Alamitos for his return and could factor at a square price.
