Top pick: #5 (ALEANDER) (7-2) - One of two entered by trainer Bob Baffert, and this $200K son of "Smart Strike" is running off almost a year's layoff. Working fast, he drops into a claimer for the first time, and can break his maiden from "off the pace."
2nd pick: #7 (Magna Warrior) (3-1) - Gelding tired badly here facing special weights on May 4. It was his first since Jan. 30th, first off a trainer switch to Jeff Mullins, and this 3yo has been competitive in both appearances when in for a tag.
3rd pick: #4 (Juliet's Tizzy) (2-1) - The probable favorite, he moves up in class after missing by a "neck" here on May 8 racing for a $30K tag. Solid effort came off a two month break, and was a career best from a "figure" stand-point. Obvious threat.
4th pick: #2 (Gold Chaser) (5-2) - The second of the Baffert pair, debuting colt by "Medaglia d"Oro" cost $200K and runs for a $50,000 tag first out. The works are steady, but not as good as "Aleanders." A contender despite that fact.
