Top pick: #9 (MIDNIGHT CANDY) (8-5) - The probable favorite, she takes a big drop in class after four straight solid efforts to begin her career. Stalker is going turf to dirt and worked a half-mile here on Sept. 13. The horse to beat.
nd pick: #1 (Bullwinkle Babe) (6-1) - Stretch out sprinter is dropping in class and switching from "poly" to conventional dirt this afternoon. She has the rail, and the inside has been a nice place to be the first two days of this meet on the newly installed main track. Win candidate.
rd pick: #4 (Cora Elizabeth) (6-1) - She's raced evenly in all three sprints, and is another trying a two turn trip for the first time. Can grab a share with just a slight move forward.
th pick: #7 (Gem of a Gal) (8-1) - She showed nothing when debuting in a Los Alamitos sprint facing special weights on Sept. 6. Veteran Art Sherman drops her in class, stretches her out in distance, and it's a plus to see Trujillo back on the re-ride.
th pick: #10 (Silent Reward) (8-1) - Home bred went evenly in her Del Mar debut Aug. 29. Stretches out today, and she could factor if able to avoid a wide trip from this marooned post.
