Top pick: #6 (SUNNY KAT) (5-2) - Colt is by top grass sire "Kitten's Joy" and cost $260K as a 2yo in training in March of 2013. He showed some ability in a pair of starts last year, and trainer John Sadler has him working fast for his return. Takes this if ready.
2nd pick: #8 (Drysdale) (8-1) - One of two entered by trainer Julio Canani, and the pair race uncoupled. Debuting colt has some fine local works on view and has been doing so since early Feb. Colt of "Smart Strike" is a win threat in his first public appearance.
3rd pick: #5 (Relative Time) (12-1) - Longshot is the second of the Canani pair and has been freshened up since tiring in a series of starts earlier this year. His early speed makes him dangerous in this largely untried group.
4th pick: #4 (Mal Verde) (6-1) - Another of the half-dozen making their debuts, he was originally prepared at San Louis Rey Downs before having a bullet three-furlong gate breeze here four days ago. From the same barn as "Sunny Kat" and a threat if he runs to his A.M. moves.
