Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #7 (SOUTHERN KING) (4-1) - New York invader was in good shape the latter part of last year and presumably sent here because turf racing will not resume on the NYRA circuit until late March or early April. Thi 4yo has been sharp in all three grass attempts and moves from the barn of Todd Pletcher to hat of Peter Miller 24% with new arrivals during 2019. Nicely spotted and I give him a slight edge.
2nd pick: #9 (Red King) (9-2) - He had serious traffic problems when checking in a non-threatening 3rd as the favorite going 11 furlongs at this level Nov 24 at Del Mar. It was his first race in three months and I expect him to be a strong win candidate on a grass course that he loves 8-3-0-3.
3rd pick: #5 (Shining Through) (5-1) - A $200K 4yo colt by 'Malibu Moon', he made up some ground going a mile facing tougher Nov 23 at Del mar. It was his first start in around 100 days and he should be much sharper in this spot.
4th pick: #6 (Crystal Tribe) (15-1) - Irish import can 'run all day' and enters off an effort where he 'clipped heels' when having a nice spot to strike from. He won twice in England going 10 furlongs so today's 9 panel contest is well within his reach. 4yo is an interesting longshot.
