Top pick: #1 (ZENDARA) (9-2) - Lightly-raced grey mare has been away from action since March 17th, 2012. She has early speed, and drops to a new low off a trainer change to Randy Russell. Working fine and she looks set for a competitive effort off the long break.
2nd pick: #8 (Swampy) (7-2) - She's lightly raced and enters off a career best when she ran second here at this tag Aug. 31. Speed/stalker may be favored in this spot and is an obvious win threat.
3rd pick: #7 (Recalculator) (4-1) - Lasix is added to mare who showed speed before tiring and finishing two lengths back of "Swampy" on Aug. 31. Trainer Lori Smock brings her back quickly and this 6-year-old can factor with a bit more improvement.
4th pick: #6 (Not Simply Simon) (9-2) - She also exits the same last race as both "Swampy" and "Recalculator" and split that pair after flashing some early speed. Lightly raced, in a capable barn, and she must be left in the mix.
5th pick: #9 (Honorable Jan) (20-1) - Longshot moves off the rail and earlier in this meet she had a pair of competitive tries at this level. If either of those efforts are repeatable she could impact at a very big price.
