Daughter of "Smart Strike" cost $1,300,000 as a yearling back in 2012 and just missed in a pair of G1 stakes during the fall of 2013. Injured at that time, she was away for just over a year and has finished second in both return starts as a heavy favorite. She has the rail and looks set for her long awaited maiden win in this spot.
2nd pick: #7 (Live for Now) (3-1) - Daughter of "Tiznow" has been competitive in all five dirt races and has finished second in three of those. She just missed at Santa Anita at this level and distance Oct6 and got a career best figure. Win candidate.
3rd pick: #3 (Lady Bugatti) (5-1) - The second of the Baffert fillies, she chased a quick pace and weakened to finish fourth sprinting at Santa Anita on Oct. 3. It was her first sine late January and she's been working fast since. Barn stretches her out and daughter of "Bernardini" must be left in the mix.
4th pick: #4 (Nicegirlsfinishlast) (6-1) - Filly has been competitive in all six starts on the grass and will be racing on the dirt for the first time. She continues to work well on it, and if she takes to it she should be involved from start-to-finish.
