Top pick: #2 (ZIP CAT) (8-5) - The speed and class of the field, he enters in sharp form and breaks just off the rail in this abbreviated sprint. He's beaten better in the past, is capable on conventional dirt, and can take this group from start-to-finish.
2nd pick: #3 (Magoo) (6-1) - Longshot has a fine overall record (14-6-1-4) with all of those starts coming here before the course was made larger. Speed/stalker can be involved from start-to-finish at a square price.
3rd pick: #5 (Warren's Cole) (7-2) - One run type has a god year going (11-1-3-5), and last out at Santa Anita he ran a career best figure. Fits with his best, and his chances would improve if someone can run early with "Zip Cat."
4th pick: #7 (Cold Bay) (15-1) - Veteran has gone 4-1-3-0 here facing cheaper going 4.5-furlongs since Oct. 17th. His best "figures" don't match well with the top three picks, and a small award at a big price would appear to be his ceiling.
