Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #3 (LUKE'S ON FIRE) (9-5) - The probable favorite, colt enters off two straight second-place finishes at this level and distance. One of those came here Sept. 24 and the latest was Nov. 2 at Del Mar. Seems set for his maiden win.
2nd pick: #5 (Time for Cioppino) (10-1) - NEW gelding was competitive during the late Spring and early summer but has regressed in his last several starts. Fits with his best and think he'll be competitive at a big price.
3rd pick: #7 (Papa Caballero) (4-1) - One of three making their debuts, gelding has some fast works showing and all have been here at Los Alamitos. Longtime California regular Art Sherman trains and he has veteran Stu Elliott aboard.
4th pick: #8 (Lipster) (5-2) - Speed/stalker has been competitive in all three starts and enters off a good effort facing $30,000 'open' company Oct. 28 at Santa Anita. He draws a fine outside post and should factor moving back in with fellow Calif. breds.
