Top pick: #11 (FLYIN FOR A LIVIN) (9-5) - The day's Best Bet, filly has been competitive in five straight facing tougher. Trainer Mike Pender drops her way down in class, has Bejarano aboard, and daughter of "High Brite" meets a weak field. The horse to beat.
nd pick: #4 (Council Talk) (5-1) - Stretch runner has been competitive in two of three since coming off an eight month break in late Sept. Can grab a share with a bit of improvement.
rd pick: #1 (Grandma Connie) (12-1) - "Grandma" showed nothing here nine days ago in her well bet debut. Filly has all sorts of problems during the running, is brought back quickly, and draws the rail. Interesting longshot.
th pick: #10 (Mary Taylor) (15-1) - She showed some early speed before tiring badly in Late Nov. at Del Mar. She's worked twice since and may get a slice of this at a very big price.
th pick: #12 (Wine Country Wanda) (8-1) - She showed little here on Dec. 7th in her first since mid-July. She has been competitive several times in the past and can do so today if able to avoid a wide trip from this post.
