Top pick: #1 (BLUESKIESNRAINBOWS) - Colt by "English Channel" takes the big plunge from racing in special weights into claimers and trainer Bob Baffert will also run him on a synthetic surface for the first time. Working fast for this, he draws the rail, has Marty garcia aboard, and is the horse to beat.
2nd pick: #9 (D'wildbunch) - He's been competitive in three straight at this price and is working well locally for his first on this surface. Stalker draws outside of the other speed, and that's in his favor.
3rd pick: #4 (Sky Larkin) - Gelding by "Grand Slam" raced evenly and had some traffic issues when debuting here May 21. Training fast for his return and his connections drop him in for a tag. Trainer Bob Diodoro wins at a 23% rate 2nd time out, and at a 19% clip off of long breaks.
4th pick: #2 (Arathorn) - Well-backed in his debut, this colt rushed up to contest the pace despite a slow start and held gamely to finish 2nd. Colt has a pair of fast works since and must be left in the mix.
