Top pick: #1 (SOUTHERN DIGS) (8-5) - Santa Anita shipper has the best early speed and has been facing much better competition down south. He has the rail, takes a big drop in class, and has run well on "poly" surfaces in the past. The horse to beat.
2nd pick: #2 (Summer Story) (5-2) - Gelding broke to the left when debuting here at this level on April 3rd and his rider could not stay aboard. Race is an obvious "toss" and owner/trainer Andy Mathis brings him back quickly, had him work on April 10th, and adds blinkers.
3rd pick: #3 (Call It Luke) (2-1) - Lightly-raced home-bred set a pressured pace and held to finish third when racing here at this price-tag March 21st. Good effort and it was a much improved over his debut. In a winning barn (Steve Sherman) and colt must be left in the mix.
