Top pick: #9 (GALLOPING GAUCHO) (9-2) - Grey gelding comes off a wide and even effort here on a sloppy surface racing at this level on May 10th. He had a tough post that day in what has turned out to be a "key" race, with the top three finishers all returning to win next out. Home-bred had a fine half-mile breeze four days ago and is the horse to beat.
nd pick: #10 (Throwsomelimeonit) (7-2) - Gelding "middle-moved" and leveled off to finish 4th of 12, beaten seven lengths going two-turns 12 days ago. Winning barn (Shawn David) brings him back quickly and shortens him up in distance in his third back from a nine month layoff. Win candidate.
rd pick: #7 (R Jones Semper Fi) (12-1) - Grey gelding has tired badly in his last pair after a solid effort on April 17th. His speed is a plus, but he needs to do better during the stretch run.
th pick: #1 (Rebel Rocket) (12-1) - This is start #31 and he's gone to 0-4-3 during his long career. He has the rail, some early speed, and is racing third back off a 3 1/2 month layoff.
th pick: #8 (Little Comanche) (30-1) - Veteran maiden runs third back from a four month layoff and has raced evenly in his return pair. Can grab a share, and maybe more at a big price, especially if the speed doesn't hold.
