Top pick: #2 (CARACORTADO) - He hasn't won since taking the "Sunshine Millions Turf" in late January at Santa Anita, but they've all come in graded stakes with most against tougher fields than this. He missed by a head two back on the G1 Shoemaker Mile at Hollywood, then ran third here in the Eddie Read (G1) to "Acclamation", who's in career best form at present. Lots of speed to rally into today and he's the horse to beat.
2nd pick: #5 (Our Nautique) - The main speed, he ships in off a stakes win up north and that made him (13-6-3-2) over the past two years. Loves the grass and this is his favorite trip(5-3-1-0). Gomez goes on for Hollendorfer and this New Zealand-bred gelding is a big threat on the front-end.
3rd pick: #1 (Champ Pegasus) - Clearly the most accomplished of these, he hasn't raced since last March when he showed nothing in the UAE in the $5,000,000 Dubai Sheema Classic. Working fast for his return and he was an easy winner of the 2010 edition of this stakes. Stretch threat, but will be over-bet.
