Top pick: #2 (SWEET MARINI) (3-1) - Grey filly won a stakes here 13 months ago and recently returned from almost a year's layoff. Grey filly tired in her return after setting a swift and pressured pace at this level and has since come back with a bullet 5-furlong work here on Aug. 22. Can take this on the front end.
nd pick: #7 (Mahalo Princess) (8-1) - Veteran mare has more wins (7) than any other entered and has won two in a row coming into this attempt. Speed/stalker won here at this level in a turf sprint July 31st and has worked fast twice since. Daughter of "Tribal Rule" should be involved every step.
rd pick: #8 (D'ya Knowwhatimean) (8-1) - Stakes placed several times, one run type raced wide here at this level from a tough post (12th of 12)on July 20th. She draws a bit better and most all of the speed is to her inside. Stretch threat.
th pick: #5 (Twelve Folds) (6-1) - Another multiple winner (3), she rallied from far back after a poor start to finish fifth, beaten two lengths here at this level on Aug. 9. It was her second back from a 2 1/2 month layoff and it's nice to see her stringing starts together.
th pick: #1 (Tappingintherain) (10-1) - She's running third back from a 7 month layoff and showed an improved effort here in her second back. She's cutting back in distance, has a new trainer (Mark Glatt), and Bejarano is aboard for the first time.
